I’m very happy to release Leopard Admin v1.0. The plugin is 100% compatible with WordPress 2.5 and I have every intention of keeping it up-to-date.
It turned out that creating the plugin from scratch for WordPress 2.5 was a much more enjoyable task than I expected. Since Happy Cog did such a great job in cleaning up the interface on all the forms and buttons, all I really had to do was enclose it in the Leopard inspired design. So what are you waiting for? Go download it! Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments as well as any requests for future versions.

Nice job here Teddy. I was hoping you might continue development on this. Not enough admin themes for WordPress in my opinion. Appreciate you putting in the work on this.
On a side note, this pop-up comment form is pretty slick. Unique for sure.

Thank you for this great plugin, and congratulations on a very good looking site! I can’t wait to see the theme you might be working on!
Just a comment on the plugin. I have a couple of plugins installed (Such as Minty Fresh) that add a link at the top of the main dashboard (same level as Settings, comments, etc). With your plugin they don’t appear anymore (they’re part of the id=”adminmenu”). Maybe add a generic icon for this extra links?
Thank you again for the plugin!

I’m seeing the same thing as Alex (or better: not seeing it ;) ). I lost my shortcuts to aLinks and cForms, which both appear as seperate top level plugins in the normal admintheme. Hope you’re able to resurrect those, since I’m completely in love with the Leopard Admin theme already!

Is it possible for me to match the blue used by WP 2.5 to the one you use for the left panel (main WP menus)?
To my eye, the two clash.

Hi. I love your plug.
But I have the problem that I can´t see the additonal TopLevel Links like the one for the Plugin NextGenGallery or Wassup!

Very nice! But please update it to show top-links added by plugins like cforms. Many people will find it difficult to use this admin-design if their major links are not visible. Best of luck.

I have solved this for the moment with a workaround, which might help others. It’s not the best solution, but at least the top links are clickable again.
Open /wp-content/plugins/leopard_admin/lib/leopard.css
Find line #138 under the css declaration .wp-admin #sidemenu:
top: 283px;Change to a slightly higher number, depending on how many top links you have. I added an additional 100px to top:393px;
Save and close leopard.css

The plugin has been updated (1.01) to show links added into the admin menu by other plugins. Visit the Leopard Admin page for more details.

@Edo 1.02 wasn’t packaged correctly. Try download it again and upload the entire leopard-admin folder into your plugin directory.

@Roman Can you describe your problem in a little bit more detail? I’ve upgraded my blog to 2.5.1 and it’s working fine. Be sure to download the latest version.
@MILE I’m using Cabel’s Fancy Zoom as I’ve explained in my about page.

Now the first level items are shown all but the items added by plugins are not highlighted on hover and not marked correctly if they are selected.
BTW: How did you do this great comments popup?
Thanks

@Thomas Which plugin are you using that’s adding links to the main menu?
The comments was created using the scriptaculous library.

I’m using the Feed Statistics Plugin and the Semmelstatz (a user statistic backend) which both add links to the main menu.

Nice plugin!
I do have one problem however: When the plugin is enabled, I can’t click the menu item for the NextGEN Gallery, and I can’t select the text either. Wondering if you had any suggestions?
Cheers in advance.

Hi Teddy! Absolutely FANTASTIC plugin! I really like the way that your Leopard Admin totally cleans up the look of the backend. Much better to look at than the default, no offense meant towards the WP designers.
From my own personal use I noticed that many of the top level plugin add-ons are shown in the list, however they are not active buttons, such as my “e-shop, nextgen gallery, subscribe 2 and todo forms.” Also, it would be nice to have the “manager” and “write” top level as well. I have a number of clients that are by no means computer savvy….all the extra clicking seems to hamper their ability to think. I would also like to get in touch with you on a more personal level. If you are actively creating plugins for wpmu we would possibly like to have you create a few customized plugins for our platform. You would of course be compensated. Anyway, great plugin!
Thanks. Courtney

Hmmmm, I checked out your screenshots and see that on your screenshots it show the “Design, Manage, Write, Comments” on the top level….mine however does not. Any advice? Thanks again!

Hi,
Is it possible to make it work with OZH’s Admin Drop Down Menu ?
Thanks :)
Courtney
Jul 10th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
Ok, I figured out why I wasn’t able to see any of the options in the menus that were under the blog icons. I have 4 blogs and then the “All My Blogs” icon. All of the extra menu items are not missing, they are underneath those blog icons.
I went to the wp-content/plugins/leopard-admin/lib/leopard.css, and I changed line 125
“top: 143px;”
to
“top: 283px;”
I then went to line 138
“top: 143px;”
and changed it to “top: 423px;”
So I added 140px to both of them. You can see a screenshot here: http://www.usavtours.com/courtneys-folder/leopard-admin-menu-fix.jpg
Hope this helps someone.

Is there a possibility of making the blogs list into a dropdown menu? Just thought it would be a cool idea. Love the plugin!

Hello. Just wanted to say that the Leopard Admin plugin has some issues with (so far) 2 of the plugins that I installed. Those are GigPress and DMSGuestbook. If I enable LeopardAdmin, the menu links for the plugins above are not clickable. As in, no working links. If I disable your plugin, everything’s fine. What could be wrong?
Except that, your plugin is great, much better display than WP’s original one. :)
